The Desert Ultra Lite Tabbing Boot Mk3 MOD Brown is a mid-ankle boot and is the latest development in Alt-Berg’s hot weather range. This boot looks exactly like the Alt-Berg Desert Microlite on the outside, apart from having one row of lace loops less and the shape of the boot inside, being made on the asymmetric forme. The boot is therefore slightly lower at the ankle than the Desert Microlite.
This Desert Tabbing is based on the new ergonomic A Forme last. The shape is based on a running shoe last, but has been adapted to incorporate all the features required in a lightweight military boot. The new design allows the foot to take up its natural alignment in the boot, whilst supporting the arch and instep during the walking gait.
The boot design is based on the Desert Microlite which has been in production for over 15 years and has been used in hot climates all over the world. The non-waterproof Cambrelle® lining along with 1000 denier cordura, makes this an extremely breathable hot weather boot.

Midsole Tri-Flex® 2-3 season, a combination of medium flex and torsional resistance, suitable for tabbing as well as rough terrain, excellent support of ankle and heel
Sole Defender Hi-Traction Sole - excellent up-hill traction and downhill braking.

Some boots in stock are an 'SF' version with upper lace rings instead of hooks for those of you who jump out of aircraft with a parachute! To prevent your laces from slipping out of the lace loops you can tie a small knot in the end of the lace to keep them within the loop. If you need the SF version you can call us to see which version is in stock in your size.

Cleaning and Care Advice:
Use Leder-Bök – a specially formulated boot care for suede/fabric/nubuck boots (available from Altberg)
Colour – clear (but it may darken the suede or nubuck)
Follow instructions given on back of spray bottle
Nubuck/suede does not have to be completely dry before applying Leder- Bök. Leder- Bök has been developed so that it may be applied to damp boots
If nubuck/suede is constantly going through a cycle of wet and dry, or if there are signs of ‘ hardening’, apply a good coating of Leder- Bök, especially in the areas where the boot flexes – then cover with a damp cloth until the Leder- Bök soaks in.
TOP TIP 1: In a hot climate, you must slow down the rate at which the boot dries out – this can be done by putting a damp cloth over the boots once you have taken them off
TOP TIP 2: Leder- Bök will help keep suede or nubuck supple, it acts to restore oils in the suede, so use it regularly, especially in areas where the boot is flexing
TOP TIP 3: In a hot climate, cover the boots with a damp cloth after applying Leder- Bök – this will allow more time for it to soak into the suede/nubuck
